I read this book when I was about twelve or thirteen, shortly after seeing the movie for the first time. I really loved the movie, and still like the movies, actually. But as always, the book is better. I do like that the movie showed me what the book couldn't. I'm not one of those people that gripe about books being made into movies (most of the time, anyway- depends on the book, I guess), because sometimes I quite enjoy seeing them getting played out on the big screen- seeing the interpretations, etc. I gave it a 3 star rating, but I would say that it deserves more of a three and a half. It was a great read, and if I can find a used copy one day in a store somewhere, seeing as how I lost mine in a move years ago, I'd be glad to pick it up again I'm sure.
