Pleasures of Men

The Pleasures of Men - Kate Williams 2.5 stars. I wanted to like this a lot more than I did but the dry dialogue and bit of slow story kind of did it in for me on this one. The writing is extremely skilled and detailed and well researched, that's for sure. But I just couldn't connect with characters and I found it lacking in entertainment. I don't know if I'm reviewing this one for the blog or not yet. There's not much to really say-- both good or bad. It was just a bit average. I wish I could have liked it more because that premise is fantastic (kinda reminded me a bit of a Jack the Ripper type tale). Williams has a great craft. I would still read her work even if I had a bit of bad luck with this one.
